Levofin

Description

Levofin 500mg contains Levofloxacin, an antibiotic from the fluoroquinolone group. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including chest, urinary tract, skin, ear, and soft tissue infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This medicine only treats bacterial infections — it does not work for colds, flu, or other viral illnesses.

Uses

Doctors may prescribe Levofin 500mg for:

• Respiratory infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Ear infections (otitis externa)

• Eye infections (bacterial conjunctivitis)

• Prostate infections

• Pelvic inflammatory disease

• Anthrax (inhalation exposure)

How to Use

• Take by mouth with a full glass of water

• Can be taken with or without food

• Try to take at the same time each day

• Swallow whole — do not crush, chew, or break

• Do not take with dairy products, iron, or zinc within 2 hours before or after

• Always complete the full course, even if you feel better

Side Effects

Some people may notice:

• Nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea

• Headache or dizziness

• Trouble sleeping

• Joint or muscle pain

• Changes in taste

• Rare: liver problems, skin rash, nerve pain, or tendon injury
