Mizicin 250mg
Brand: Serving Health Pakistan
Generic Name: Azithromycin 250mg
Class: Macrolide Antibiotic
Form: Capsule
Description
Mizicin 250mg is an antibiotic containing Azithromycin, a widely used medicine for bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria and stays active in the body for longer than many other antibiotics. Because of this, doctors often prescribe it for chest, throat, ear, and skin infections. Like other antibiotics, it will not help against viral problems such as cold or flu.
Common Uses
Doctors in Pakistan usually recommend Mizicin for:
-
Chest and throat infections (such as bronchitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis)
-
Pneumonia
-
Skin and soft tissue infections
-
Ear infections in children and adults (otitis media)
-
Certain urinary or genital infections
How to Take
-
Swallow the capsule with a glass of water.
-
It may be taken with or without meals, but taking it 1 hour before or 2 hours after food is preferred.
-
Complete the entire prescribed course, even if you start feeling better.
-
Do not take antacids containing aluminum or magnesium at the same time, as they can reduce its effect.
Overdose & Missed Dose
Taking more than prescribed can cause severe stomach upset, nausea, or vomiting. Seek medical help right away if this happens.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on the same day. If the next dose is near, skip the missed one. Do not double up.
Possible Side Effects
Most people tolerate Mizicin well, but a few may notice:
-
Upset stomach, nausea, or diarrhea
-
Headache, dizziness, or mild drowsiness
-
Skin rash or itching
-
Loss of appetite
Serious but rare effects may include allergic reactions, yellowing of the eyes/skin, kidney problems, or irregular heartbeat. If any severe reaction occurs, stop the medicine and seek urgent medical care.
Precautions
-
Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, asthma, or irregular heartbeat.
-
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should only use it after medical advice.
-
Do not use if you are allergic to azithromycin or other macrolides.
Interactions
Mizicin may react with:
-
Certain antacids
-
Heart medicines used for rhythm problems
-
Some blood-thinning medicines or other antibiotics

Doctor’s Review
Azithromycin remains one of the most prescribed antibiotics for chest and skin infections. Mizicin 250mg is effective, easy to tolerate, and safe for most patients. My advice is always to finish the full course, even if symptoms improve quickly, to avoid antibiotic resistance.
