Description

Corbis contains Bisoprolol Fumarate, a cardio-selective beta-blocker commonly prescribed in Pakistan for high blood pressure and chest pain (angina). It reduces the heart’s workload by slowing down the pulse and helping the heart pump more efficiently. It is usually taken once daily, preferably in the morning, and is often part of long-term heart health management.

How It Works

Bisoprolol blocks β1-receptors in the heart, which:

• Slows down the heart rate

• Reduces the force of heart contractions

• Lowers blood pressure and prevents angina attacks

Dosage

• Take once daily, with or without food.

• Follow your doctor’s prescribed dose — do not adjust on your own.

• Do not stop suddenly, as it may worsen heart symptoms.

Side Effects

Inform your doctor if you take:

• Heart/BP medicines: Verapamil, Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Digoxin

• Anti-arrhythmics: Flecainide, Quinidine

• Painkillers (NSAIDs): Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, Naproxen

• Some antidepressants

• Adrenaline injections may work differently during emergencies

Indication

Prescribed for:

• High blood pressure (Hypertension)

• Angina pectoris, if advised by your cardiologist

When Not to Use

Avoid Corbis if you have:

• Allergy to Bisoprolol

• Severe asthma or chronic lung disease

• Poor blood circulation in hands/feet (e.g., Raynaud’s Syndrome)

Precautions

• Diabetes patients: This medicine may hide signs of low sugar — monitor regularly.

• Kidney or liver patients: May require dose adjustment.

• Do not stop abruptly — taper only under medical supervision.

Warnings

• May cause worsening heart failure symptoms like swelling, breathlessness, slow pulse — seek medical help if this occurs.

• Inform your doctor before any surgery or dental procedure.

• If you feel less alert, avoid driving or operating machinery.
