Description:

Glicam 5mg contains Glibenclamide, an oral anti-diabetic medicine used to help control Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. It works by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin, which lowers blood sugar levels. It is only effective when used alongside proper diet and lifestyle management. It is not meant for Type 1 Diabetes.

Doctor Review – Dr. Ayesha Khan (Endocrinologist, MBBS, FCPS):
Glibenclamide has been in clinical use for many years in Pakistan for managing Type 2 Diabetes. It is effective but needs careful monitoring because of the risk of low blood sugar, especially in elderly patients or those who skip meals. I always advise patients to take it exactly as prescribed and never without regular meal timings.
