BCG Vaccine Injection (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) is a vaccine primarily used to prevent tuberculosis (TB), particularly in high-risk areas. It is administered intradermally and is most effective in protecting young children against severe forms of TB, such as TB meningitis and miliary TB. In addition to its use in TB prevention, the BCG vaccine is also utilized in the treatment of bladder cancer. The vaccine contains a live, weakened strain of Mycobacterium bovis, which stimulates the immune system to fight TB bacteria.
