Indications:
This medication is to treat prophylaxis of organ rejection in adult patients at low to moderate immunological risk receiving an allogenic renal (kidney) or cardiac (heart) transplant in combination with cyclosporin for microemulsion snd corticosteriods.
Pregnancy:
This medication is contraindicated in pregnancy.
Lactation:
This medication is contraindicated in lactating females.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to this medication to any of the ingredients in preparation. Patients with rare hereditary problems. Seevre hepatic (liver) impairment. Ensure adequate contraception for women of child bearing age.
Precautions:
Patients should be closely monitored with over suppression of the immune system. Use effective contraception. Moderate hepatic (liver) impairment. Ensure any infection is resolved before starting this treatment. Increased risk of developing lymphomas and other malignancies. History of bleeding disorders. Monitor renal (kidney) function, fasting serum glucose, Monitor drug plasma levels and Ketogenic diet.
Adverse effects:
The patient administered with this medication will experience leucopenia (decreased white blood cells), headache, dry mouth, dehydration, nausea, diarrhoea, chest pain, acne, anaemia, respiratory disorder, epitaxis, insomnia (inabiltiy to sleep), hypertension (increased blood pressure), skin and nail disorders, weight loss, diabetes, Renal (kidney) failure,Gi upset, anxiety, hand foot syndrome and joint pain.
