Cipesta Suspension contains Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride, a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections caused by both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication and growth, helping to stop the infection and promote recovery.

How It Works

Ciprofloxacin acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication and repair.
By disrupting DNA synthesis, it prevents bacterial multiplication and leads to bacterial death.
It is effective against a wide range of bacteria and shows activity against some anaerobic organisms.

Dosage

Take only as prescribed by your doctor.
Shake the bottle well before use.
Use the measuring cup or dropper for accurate dosing.
Usually given every 12 hours depending on infection type and severity.
Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early.

  Avoid taking Ciprofloxacin with milk or calcium-rich products within 2 hours of dosing.

Indications

Used for bacterial infections such as:

• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

• Genital tract infections

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Acute sinusitis caused by Gram-negative bacteria

When Not to Use

Do not use Cipesta if:

• You are allergic to Ciprofloxacin or other quinolone antibiotics

• You are taking Tizanidine (may cause severe blood pressure drop)

• You have a history of seizures or tendon disorders associated with quinolones

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment.

• Stop use immediately if numbness, tingling, or muscle weakness occurs (possible neuropathy).

• Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or UV rays; Ciprofloxacin may cause photosensitivity.

• Use cautiously in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency.

• Avoid taking with dairy or mineral supplements as they reduce drug absorption.

Warnings

1. Severe Allergic Reactions: May occur even after a single dose; discontinue immediately if symptoms arise.

2. Peripheral Neuropathy: If nerve pain or weakness develops, stop use to prevent irreversible damage.

3. Hepatic Caution: Rare cases of liver failure or necrosis have been reported; discontinue if jaundice or dark urine occurs.

Pregnancy Category
