Crestat 10 mg – Cholesterol Fighter
What it’s for Crestat has Rosuvastatin in it – one of those statin drugs that battles high cholesterol. Pakistani doctors hand this out when your blood work shows:
- Bad cholesterol numbers – lowers the LDL (bad stuff) and triglycerides while bumping up HDL (good cholesterol)
- Risk of heart attacks or strokes – especially if you’ve got diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease runs in your family
- Messed up cholesterol levels across the board – when multiple types of fats in your blood are out of whack
- Genetic high cholesterol – some people just got dealt bad genes and their cholesterol is sky-high no matter what they eat
The whole point is protecting your arteries from getting clogged up with cholesterol plaques that can kill you.
What you’re taking
- Main ingredient: Rosuvastatin Calcium
- Dose: 10 mg in each pill
- Drug type: HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (that’s the fancy name for statins)
Stuff you absolutely need to know Only take this if a doctor prescribed it specifically for you. You’ll need regular blood tests to check your liver function and cholesterol levels – this isn’t optional. If you’ve got liver disease, kidney problems, thyroid issues, or drink too much, your doctor needs to watch you extra carefully.
Pregnant women and nursing mothers can’t take this. It messes with other medications like blood thinners, some antiviral drugs, and certain antifungal medicines, so tell your doctor about everything else you’re taking.
Here’s the thing doctors always say but people ignore – you still have to eat right, exercise, and quit smoking. This pill isn’t magic that lets you live on burgers and fries.
Side effects people get Most common stuff:
- Headaches, feeling dizzy
- Stomach upset, nausea, getting constipated
- Muscle aches and weakness
- Sleep problems
Really serious stuff that’s rare: liver damage, severe muscle breakdown that can trash your kidneys. If your muscles are killing you, your pee turns dark, or you start looking yellow, get to a hospital right now.
