Cefdinir is an extended-spectrum, semisynthetic cephalosporin, which is taken orally. The medicine is effective against the most prevalent respiratory tract infections, such as Penicillin susceptible Streptococcus. pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and Haemophilus influenza. Cefdinir treats bacterial infections such as Pneumonia, bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes that lead to the lungs) and infections of the skin, sinuses, tonsils, throat and ear. Cefdinir functions by killing bacteria.
How To Use
- Cefdinir is available as a capsule and a solution (liquid) for oral use.
- Depending on the disease being addressed, it is commonly administered with or without food every 12 or 24 hours for 5 to 10 days.
- Cefdinir should be taken at the same time each day.
- Do not crush or chew the capsule.
- The capsule should be swallowed with water.
- Follow the label instructions carefully, and if there is anything you don’t understand, talk to your doctor or pharmacist to clarify it to you.
- Cefdinir should be taken exactly as indicated. Do not take more or less than the prescribed dose.
- Do not take it more frequently than your doctor has suggested.

- Cefdinir absorption can be hampered by aluminum or magnesium-containing antacids and iron supplements. They should not be taken within two hours of taking Cefdinir.
- Refrigerate the suspension and give it a good shake before using. After 10 days, or when you’ve completed the number of days your doctor recommended, throw away the bottle.
- Antibiotic resistance and the spread of other illnesses can result from using outdated, expired antibiotics.
- Keep the medicine at room temperature, avoid from direct sunlight.
