Overview
Divestra is a hormonal combination medicine containing Cyproterone acetate and Ethinylestradiol. It is primarily prescribed to treat polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) symptoms, such as severe acne, irregular periods, and excessive hair growth, caused by the overproduction of male hormones (androgens).
In addition, Divestra also has contraceptive properties, so women taking it for PCOS or acne management usually do not need another birth control pill. However, it is not recommended solely as a contraceptive unless other symptoms are also present.
