Overview
Focin contains Fosfomycin, a broad-spectrum antibiotic primarily used for the treatment of urinary tract infections (UTIs) that are uncomplicated. It works by interfering with bacterial cell wall synthesis, thereby preventing bacterial growth and eliminating the infection. Fosfomycin is reserved for bacterial infections only and has no effect on viral conditions such as influenza or the common cold.

Doctor’s Review
“Focin (Fosfomycin) is a well-tolerated and effective antibiotic for uncomplicated urinary tract infections, particularly in women. It is often given as a single-dose treatment, which improves compliance compared to longer antibiotic regimens. However, it should not be used unnecessarily or for viral conditions, as misuse contributes to antibiotic resistance.”
