Composition

• Nimesulide: 100 mg per tablet

Description

Frendcogen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), an enzyme responsible for producing prostaglandins, which mediate pain, inflammation, and fever. This selective inhibition helps reduce inflammation and pain while minimizing gastrointestinal side effects compared to non-selective NSAIDs.

Uses / Indications

• Painful inflammatory conditions, including osteoarthritis

• Postoperative pain and trauma

• Sports injuries

• ENT disorders (ear, nose, throat)

• Dental surgery

• Bursitis / Tendinitis

• Thrombophlebitis

• Pharyngitis

Dosage

• Adults: 100 mg twice daily after meals

• Children: Not recommended

Administration: Take with or after meals. Follow the prescribed dose and treatment duration.

Missed Dose

If a dose is missed, take it as soon as remembered. If it’s near the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one. Do not double the dose.

Overdose

Overdose can cause liver toxicity and gastrointestinal complications. Immediate medical attention is required.

When Not to Use

Do not use Frendcogen if you have:

• Hypersensitivity to nimesulide

• Severe liver impairment

• Active gastrointestinal bleeding

• Renal impairment

Side Effects

• Gastrointestinal toxicity (nausea, stomach upset, ulcers, bleeding)

• Rare: Allergic reactions

Precautions & Warnings

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, congestive heart failure, cirrhosis, or volume/salt depletion

• Avoid concurrent use with other NSAIDs unless prescribed

• Limit alcohol consumption due to risk of gastrointestinal complications

Drug Interactions

• Anticoagulants (e.g., warfarin): Increased bleeding risk

• Other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen): Increased gastrointestinal bleeding/ulcer risk

Food Interactions

• Take with food to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort

• Avoid alcohol

Storage & Disposal

• Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat

• Keep in original container, out of reach of children

• Dispose of expired or unused medicine properly, following local disposal guidelines or drug take-back programs
