Hidrasec contains Racecadotril, an intestinal antisecretory agent used in the treatment of acute diarrhea. Unlike traditional antidiarrheal medicines that slow gut movement, Racecadotril works by reducing excessive fluid secretion in the intestines, thereby controlling watery stools while preserving normal intestinal motility. This makes it particularly useful in children and adults for rapid diarrhea management without causing constipation.

Doctor’s Review – Dr. Sameer Hussain, Consultant Pediatric Gastroenterologist:
“Hidrasec (Racecadotril) is useful for acute watery diarrhea in both children and adults. It works by reducing excess fluid secretion without slowing the intestine, making stools less watery while preserving normal bowel function. It should always be combined with oral rehydration therapy and must not be used in bloody diarrhea or suspected bacterial infections. With proper supervision, it is a safe and effective option.”
