Ivagen 5mg Tablets (28’s Pack)
Brand: Genix Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd.
Generic Name: Ivabradine 5mg
Ivagen (Ivabradine) works by selectively inhibiting the “funny” current (If current) in the sinoatrial (SA) node, which controls the heart’s pacemaker activity. By slowing the heart rate without reducing heart muscle contractility, Ivabradine helps relieve chest pain, improves exercise capacity, and reduces hospitalizations in patients with chronic heart failure and stable angina.
Primary Uses
Ivabradine is prescribed for:
-
Stable angina (to reduce frequency of chest pain).
-
Chronic heart failure (to lower hospitalization risk).
-
Controlling heart rate in patients intolerant to beta-blockers.
-
Improving exercise capacity and quality of life in selected cardiac patients.
How to Use
-
Take as prescribed, usually one tablet twice daily.
-
Swallow whole with a glass of water.

Missed Dose / Overdose

Doctor’s Review
Dr. Sara Hussain, Consultant Cardiologist
“Ivabradine is an excellent option for patients with chronic stable angina or heart failure who cannot tolerate beta-blockers. It lowers heart rate without affecting blood pressure or cardiac contractility. However, it must be prescribed carefully, with regular monitoring of heart rate and visual side effects.”
