Doctor’s Review, Dr. Nadia Rehman – Consultant Endocrinologist, MBBS, FCPS (Endocrinology), Lahore
“Jardy (empagliflozin) is a medicine from the SGLT2 inhibitor group, commonly used in type 2 diabetes management. Beyond lowering blood sugar, research has shown it also provides added protection for the heart and kidneys, which makes it particularly valuable in patients with diabetes who have cardiovascular conditions or heart failure. As with other medicines in this class, staying hydrated and maintaining personal hygiene are important to reduce the risk of urinary or genital infections, which are the most frequent side effects. When used under medical supervision, Jardy is recognized as an effective long-term option in managing type 2 diabetes along with its related complications.”
