Side Effects:
Anorexia (loss of appetite), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, visual disturbances, headache, fatigue, drowsiness, confusion, delirium, hallucinations, depression, arrhythmias, heartblock, rarely rash, intestinal ischemia (painful intestines), gynecomastia (enlargement of men’s breasts) on long term use, thrombocytopenia (deficiency of platelets)
Precautions:
Recent infarction, sick sinus syndrome (disorder of heart rhythm), thyroid disease, reduce dose in elderly and in kidney impairment, Avoid hypokalemia (deficieny of potassium in blood), avoid rapid intravenous administration, (nausea and risk of arrhthmias).
