Lendacin

Description

Lendacin 1gm contains Ceftriaxone, a cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections, including serious conditions such as meningitis, pneumonia, sepsis, urinary tract infections, and abdominal infections. Doctors also use it to prevent infections after surgery. It works by killing bacteria but is not effective against viral illnesses like flu or colds.

Uses

Doctors may prescribe Lendacin 1gm for:

• Severe respiratory infections

• Urinary and genital tract infections

• Bone and joint infections

• Abdominal infections

• Sepsis (serious blood infection)

Side Effects

• Upset stomach or diarrhea

• Rare but serious: severe diarrhea (due to C. difficile), liver enzyme changes, blood disorders, kidney stones, or pancreatitis

 Seek medical help if you notice persistent diarrhea, breathing difficulty, or blood in urine/stool.

• Safe in pregnancy only if prescribed by a doctor

• Consult your doctor before use while breastfeeding

• May cause dizziness — avoid driving if affected

• Use carefully in patients with liver or kidney problems

• Regular blood tests may be needed during long-term use

• Always inform your doctor about allergies or past reactions to antibiotics

Contraindications

Do not use Lendacin 1gm if you:

• Are allergic to Ceftriaxone or other beta-lactam antibiotics

• Are a premature newborn (<41 weeks postmenstrual age)

• Are a newborn with jaundice, hypoalbuminemia, or acidosis

• Require IV calcium treatment while on Ceftriaxone (in neonates)

• Store vials as directed by the pharmacist

• Protect from sunlight and moisture

• Keep out of children’s reach
