Nexfen

Description

Nexfen contains Ibuprofen, a widely used medicine for pain relief, inflammation, and fever. It works by blocking prostaglandins — chemicals in the body that cause pain, swelling, and high temperature. Nexfen is often prescribed for short-term relief of mild to moderate pain and inflammation in both adults and children.

Uses in Pakistan

Doctors commonly prescribe Nexfen for:

• Headache, toothache, and body pain

• Muscle pain, back pain, and strains

• Fever and flu-related discomfort

• Menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea)

• Joint pain, arthritis, and swelling

• Minor injuries, sprains, or post-surgery pain

Dosage

• Take as directed by your doctor.

• Adults: usually 200–400mg every 6–8 hours if needed.

• Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.

• Swallow with a full glass of water, preferably after meals.

In Case of Overdose

Symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dizziness, or drowsiness. Severe cases may cause breathing problems or low blood pressure. Immediate medical attention is required.

Missed Dose

• Take it as soon as you remember.

• If it’s close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed one.

• Do not double the dose.

When Not to Use

Avoid Nexfen if you have:

• Allergy to Ibuprofen, aspirin, or other NSAIDs

• History of asthma triggered by NSAIDs

• Severe kidney, liver, or heart conditions

• Recently had heart bypass surgery (CABG)
