Indications:
This medication is indicated in post-menopausal osteoporosis (porous bones).
Pregnancy:
This medication is contraindicated in pregnancy.
Lactation:
This medication is contraindicated or not recommended in lactating females. Consult your doctor before taking this medication.
Precautions:
Predeopostion to thromboembolism (blood vessel obstruction), interferes with colorimetric measurements of calcium in blood and urine.
Side effects:
The side effects are nausea, diarrhoea, venous thromboembolism (blood clot in deep veins of the leg), headache, dermatitis (inflammation of skin), eczema, rarely vomiting, abdominal pain, stomatitis (inflammation of mouth and lips) and hypersensitivity reactions, including rash, pruritis (unpleasant sensation of skin), urticaria (red bumps on skin) and angioedema (swelling of skin).
