Description

Softin Tablets contain Loratadine 10mg, a second-generation antihistamine used to relieve allergy and flu symptoms. Unlike older antihistamines, Loratadine is generally non-drowsy and long-acting, making it suitable for daily use in controlling seasonal allergies, hay fever, urticaria (hives), and related conditions.

How It Works

Loratadine reduces allergy symptoms by blocking the action of histamine, a natural chemical responsible for causing sneezing, runny nose, itchy eyes, and skin reactions.

Indications

• Allergic rhinitis (hay fever) – sneezing, runny/itchy nose, watery or itchy eyes.

• Urticaria (hives, nettle rash) – skin itching, redness, and swelling.

• Relief from general seasonal and environmental allergy symptoms.

Dosage

• Usual adult dose: 10mg once daily (with or without food).

• Children (over 2 years): Dosage should follow a doctor’s advice.

• Always follow healthcare provider or package instructions.

Side Effects

• Common: Headache, mild nausea, fatigue, anxiety, drowsiness (rare).

• Rare but possible: Somnolence (sleepiness), dizziness, skin rash.

Drug Interactions

• Inhibitors of CYP3A4 or CYP2D6 may increase Loratadine levels.
