Sofvasc

Introduction

Sofvasc 5mg belongs to the group of calcium channel blockers. It is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina (chest pain) by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. This helps lower blood pressure, reduces strain on the heart, and decreases the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney complications.

Uses

• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure).

• Management of angina (chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart).

• Can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive or antianginal medicines.

How It Works

Amlodipine blocks calcium from entering the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels. This relaxation widens the vessels, lowering blood pressure and improving oxygen delivery to the heart.

Dosage & Administration

• Take by mouth with a glass of water.

• May be taken with or without food.

• Dosage is individualized by a doctor based on condition and response to treatment.

• Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
