Indications :
This medicine is used to provide symptomatic relief from allergic symptoms caused by histamine release including nasal allergies and allergic dermatoses. It can be used in combination with epinephrine in the treatment of anaphylaxis (sudden allergic reaction), treatment or prevcention of motion sickness, used to prevent cough, management of Parkinsonian syndrome, used in itching associated with insect bites, minor cuts, burns and rashes.
Pregnancy:
This medication is contraindicated in pregnancy. Consult your doctor before.
Lactation:
This medication is contraindicated or not recommended in lactating females. Consult your doctor before using this medication.
Contraindications:
This medication is contraindicated in stenosis peptic ulcer (sores in lining of stomach) and pyloroduodenal obstruction (obstruction at the opening of the stomach into the duodenum).
Precautions:
This medicine is known to cause some sedation so try to avoid driving or operating machinery. Use with caution in patients with narrow angle glaucoma (eye disorder), urinary tract obstruction, hyperthyroidism (increased activity of thyroid gland), increased eye pressure, heart impairment. Myasthenia gravis (neuromuscular disease), epilepsy (seizures),protrate gland enlargement, asthma, COPD (long term breathing problems), kidney or liver impairment and elderly.
Adverse effects:
Patients using this medication may at times experience dry mouth, constipation,weakness,restlessness, liver impairment, skin rash, early menstrual period, frequent urinations, purpura (purple spots on skin),thrombocytopenia (low platelets),palpitations,weight gain, blurred vision, and drowsiness. If you experience any of these symptoms for a long period of time, consult your doctor immediately.
