Introduction
Uropin 100mg tablet contains Phenazopyridine HCl, a urinary tract analgesic that provides relief from pain, burning, and irritation associated with urinary tract infections or procedures. It is not an antibiotic and must be used alongside appropriate therapy for the underlying cause.
Primary Uses
-
Pain and burning relief in urinary tract infections
-
Irritation due to cystitis, urethritis, or prostatitis

How It Works
Phenazopyridine is excreted in urine, where it acts locally on the urinary tract lining to reduce discomfort. The exact mechanism is unclear but clinically effective.

-
Stop use if skin or eye discoloration appears

Doctor’s Review
“Useful as a short-term pain reliever in UTIs but never a standalone treatment. I limit use to a few days and avoid it entirely in kidney-compromised patients.”
