It works by restoring the balance of a natural substance in the brain, serotonin. It inhibits serotonin’s uptake in the brain (Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor-SSRI). It improves appetite, mood, sleep, and energy levels. It may also reduce the frequency of unpleasant thoughts and improve the overall quality of life.
How To Use
- Take this medicine by mouth with a glass of water.
- Take this medicine with or without food.
- Swallow it as a whole, do not crush or chew the medicine.
- Take it at the same time every day to help you remember.
- Or use it exactly as instructed by your doctor.
Expert Advice
Take this medication in the morning with or without meals. Do not chew or crush, swallow whole. Take sufficient amount of fluids (2-3 litres per day) to maintain hydration.
Do not take aspirin and NSAIDs during therapy and avoid taking this medication within two hours of taking an antacid. Also avoid alcohol and caffeine during therapy.
This medication is not recommended for children and hence keep out of reach of children.
