Febuxostat lowers uric acid in the blood by blocking an enzyme called xanthine oxidase. This helps prevent gout attacks, kidney stones, and complications linked to uric acid buildup. It is often prescribed to patients who cannot use allopurinol or did not respond well to it.

Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 80mg once daily

In some cases, dose may be increased to 120mg once daily (doctor’s advice only)

Missed Dose / Overdose

Missed dose: Take it when you remember, or skip if it’s nearly time for your next dose. Do not double up.

When Not to Use
Avoid if you have:
