Description
Devoquine contains Chloroquine Phosphate, a well-known medicine used to treat and prevent malaria. It belongs to a class of drugs called antimalarials, which work by killing the malaria parasites living inside red blood cells. It may also be used in some other infections, such as amoebiasis (liver infection) and certain inflammatory conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, under medical supervision.
Uses
-
Treatment and prevention of malaria caused by chloroquine-sensitive parasites.
-
Management of hepatic amoebiasis (liver infection).
-
May be used in certain autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis (as prescribed).
How It Works
Devoquine (Chloroquine) works by entering the red blood cells infected by malaria parasites. It increases the pH inside the parasite’s food vacuole, interfering with its ability to digest hemoglobin. This process kills the parasite and stops its spread in the bloodstream.
