Description

Domact (Domperidone) is an antiemetic and prokinetic agent that helps relieve nausea, vomiting, bloating, and delayed gastric emptying. It works both on the brain and gut to improve stomach motility and reduce feelings of sickness, making it useful in digestive disorders and post-chemotherapy nausea.

Key Benefits

  • Relieves nausea and vomiting from multiple causes.

  • Enhances gastric emptying in dyspepsia and reflux conditions.

  • Useful in post-chemotherapy nausea and migraine-associated vomiting.

  • Improves bloating and abdominal discomfort due to delayed digestion.

How It Works

Domperidone blocks dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) and gastrointestinal tract. This prevents nausea signals in the brain and increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, promoting faster gastric emptying without crossing the blood-brain barrier significantly.

How to Use

  • Take 10–20mg orally 3–4 times daily, 15–30 minutes before meals or as directed by your doctor.

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush.

  • Use for the shortest duration possible and avoid self-medication.

  • If a dose is missed, take it soon as remembered; skip if close to next dose.

Doctor Review

Dr. Ayesha Rehman, MBBS, FCPS – Consultant Gastroenterologist:
“Domperidone provides effective symptomatic relief in upper GI motility disorders and post-treatment nausea. Its peripheral dopamine antagonism improves gastric emptying without major CNS side effects. However, caution is warranted in cardiac patients due to QT prolongation risk, especially in elderly or when combined with CYP3A4 inhibitors. Short-term, low-dose therapy remains the safest and most effective approach.”

Primary Uses
