Description

This is a local anesthetic jelly containing Lignocaine (also called Lidocaine). It works by blocking nerve signals in the area where it’s applied, creating temporary numbness. The numbing effect typically begins 3-5 minutes after application.

How to Use

  • Apply at the start of the procedure as directed by your doctor.
  • Adults: Apply to affected area 3-4 times daily
  • Children: Dose based on body weight—must be determined by healthcare provider
  • If you miss a dose, apply when you remember. If next dose is near, skip the missed one.

Who Shouldn’t Use It

  • People allergic to this medicine or its contents
  • Don’t use on wounds or cuts
  • Patients with complete heart block
  • Patients with hypovolemia (decreased blood volume)
  • Those with blood pigmentation disorder (porphyrias)

Use With Caution If You Have

  • Kidney (renal) impairment
  • Liver (hepatic) impairment
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Severe shock
  • Epilepsy (seizure disorder)
  • Myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness disorder)
  • Porphyria (liver disorder affecting skin or nervous system)
  • Respiratory problems
  • Sinus bradycardia (slow heartbeat)
  • Any form of heart block

Elderly patients should consult their doctor before use.

Precautions

  • May affect your ability to drive—avoid driving after application.
  • Avoid alcohol consumption.
  • Tell your doctor about any history of addiction or drug abuse.
  • Inform your doctor if you have diabetes, chickenpox, herpes, fungal infections, or liver disease.
  • Tell your doctor about all other medications you’re taking.

Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Possible Side Effects

  • Dizziness
  • Confusion
  • Convulsions
  • Depressed respiratory rate (slowed breathing)
