Description:

Lotepred Forte contains Loteprednol Etabonate, a corticosteroid eye medicine. It works by reducing the production of inflammatory substances in the eye, helping to relieve redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort. Doctors prescribe it mainly for inflammatory conditions of the eye, especially those not caused by infections.

Medical Uses

Lotepred Forte is prescribed for:

• Post-operative inflammation after cataract or eye surgery

• Allergic conjunctivitis (eye redness, itching, watery eyes)

• Uveitis and other non-infectious inflammatory conditions of the eye

• Eye pain and swelling due to injury or irritation

How to Use

1. Wash hands before application.

2. Shake bottle gently.

3. Tilt head back, pull down lower eyelid, and instill 1–2 drops as prescribed.

4. Close eye gently for 1–2 minutes; avoid blinking too much.

5. Do not touch dropper tip to eye or any surface.

6. Follow your doctor’s exact dosing schedule.

Possible Side Effects

Some patients may notice:

• Temporary stinging or burning

• Blurred vision for a short while

• Watery or itchy eyes

• Increased eye pressure (with long-term use)

Serious but rare: cataract formation or worsening of undetected infections.

Contraindications
