Description
Novasalic Ointment is a combination of Betamethasone Dipropionate (a potent corticosteroid) and Salicylic Acid (a keratolytic agent). Betamethasone works by reducing inflammation, redness, itching, and swelling, while Salicylic Acid helps remove thickened, scaly skin and improves absorption of Betamethasone. Doctor’s Overview — Dr. Farah Siddiqui, MBBS, FCPS
Novasalic Ointment is used for skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema, especially when thick scales are present. The salicylic acid helps remove scales so the betamethasone can work better. It should be applied sparingly and not used long-term without medical supervision. Any unusual skin changes should be reported to a doctor.
