Oxcarbazepine is used to control seizures in patients who don’t respond to older treatments. It is generally well tolerated, but sodium levels and skin reactions should be monitored. Women should be aware it can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills. It’s a reliable option for long-term seizure management.
