Introduction
Sunvit 200,000 IU Injection contains Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3), an essential vitamin that plays a critical role in calcium and phosphate metabolism. It is vital for bone health, muscle function, and immunity. Pakistani doctors often prescribe it for vitamin D deficiency, rickets in children, and osteomalacia in adults.
How it Works
-
Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) is naturally produced in the skin under UV light exposure.
-
It undergoes hydroxylation in the liver and kidneys, converting into 1,25-dihydroxy-cholecalciferol, the biologically active form.
-
This active metabolite regulates calcium and phosphate balance, working alongside parathyroid hormone and calcitonin to strengthen bones and teeth.
Primary Uses / Indications
-
Prevention and treatment of Vitamin D deficiency.
-
Rickets (children).
-
Osteomalacia (adults).
-
Vitamin D deficiency due to malabsorption syndromes, chronic diseases, or drug-induced causes.
-
Supportive therapy in conditions requiring improved bone mineralization.
Dosage
-
Contains Cholecalciferol 200,000 IU per 1mL injection.
-
Dosage and administration (oral or intramuscular) should only be determined by a physician, based on severity of deficiency and patient profile.

“In Pakistan, Vitamin D deficiency is widespread due to limited sun exposure and dietary intake. High-dose Cholecalciferol injections like Sunvit 200,000 IU are often prescribed for rapid correction of deficiency, especially in patients with rickets, osteomalacia, or malabsorption disorders. Regular monitoring of calcium levels is essential during therapy.”
