Description

Zetamax 250mg Tablets contain Azithromycin, a macrolide-class antibiotic with broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. It works by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, suppressing protein synthesis and stopping bacterial growth. Due to its long half-life, Azithromycin allows once-daily dosing with shorter treatment durations compared to other antibiotics.

Uses

Zetamax Tablets 250mg are used to treat bacterial infections such as:

• Respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, pharyngitis, tonsillitis).

• Skin and soft tissue infections.

• Ear infections.

• Certain sexually transmitted infections.

• Gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract infections caused by susceptible organisms.

Dosage

Contains Azithromycin 250mg per tablet.

Side Effects

Possible side effects may include:

• Wheezing or shortness of breath.

• Terfenadine.

When Not to Use

• Allergic to Azithromycin, Erythromycin, Clarithromycin, or any other macrolide-class antibiotic.

Precautions

• Report immediately if experiencing palpitations, dizziness, or muscle weakness.

Warnings

Warning 1:
Persistent or severe diarrhoea during or after treatment should be investigated by a doctor. Avoid self-medicating with anti-diarrhoeal drugs.

Take Azithromycin 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals for best absorption.
