Description
Zylexx SR 150mg contains Bupropion HCl, an antidepressant that works by selectively inhibiting the reuptake of catecholamines (noradrenaline and dopamine) in the brain. Unlike many other antidepressants, it has minimal effect on serotonin and does not inhibit monoamine oxidase. Although its exact mechanism is not fully known, it is thought to improve mood, energy, and motivation through noradrenergic and dopaminergic pathways.
Indication
-
Treatment of major depressive episodes.
-
May be considered for other mood-related conditions as advised by a physician.
How it Works
Bupropion increases the activity of dopamine and noradrenaline, two brain chemicals important for regulating mood and emotional stability. By balancing these neurotransmitters, it helps reduce depressive symptoms like low energy, loss of interest, and poor concentration.
Dosage
-
Bupropion HCl 150mg (SR) – to be taken orally as prescribed by the doctor.
-
Usually taken once or twice daily, depending on the treatment plan.
-
Important: Do not exceed the prescribed dose, as higher doses raise the risk of seizures.

Doctor’s Review
Dr. Ayesha Rahman, Consultant Psychiatrist:
“Zylexx SR 150mg (Bupropion) is an effective option for patients with depression, especially when low energy and lack of motivation are prominent symptoms. It acts differently from SSRIs and is generally well-tolerated, though insomnia and restlessness can occur. Monitoring is essential, particularly for seizure risk at higher doses.”
