Freehale Montelukast is used for the prevention and long-term treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis (hay fever), and breathing difficulties caused by exercise. It works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes, which cause narrowing of the airways and inflammation. By reducing this effect, it helps keep the airways open, making it easier to breathe and preventing asthma attacks.
Primary Uses
-
Asthma maintenance therapy
-
Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion)
-
Prevention of exercise-induced asthma

Doctor’s Review
Dr. Ayesha Rehman – Consultant Pulmonologist
“Montelukast is helpful for patients with both asthma and allergies, especially when seasonal symptoms worsen breathing. By controlling airway inflammation, it improves daily comfort. However, it is not a rescue medicine for sudden asthma attacks and should be used as part of a long-term management plan.”
How to Use
Take the tablet by mouth with water, usually once daily in the evening, with or without food. Follow your doctor’s directions carefully. Do not stop taking the medicine without medical advice, even if you feel better.
